December 22-23, 29-31: Celebrate Christmas Break at Burrow & Bloom’s Kids Village!
The presents have been unwrapped, the big Christmas dinner is over, and suddenly… the kids have a lot of extra energy and a lot of days left before school starts back.
Winter break is a magical time for family bonding, but let’s be honest: by December 26, “cabin fever” starts to set in. If you are looking for ways to keep your little ones active, imaginative, and screen-free during the final week of the year, we’ve got you covered.
🏠Our Holiday Hours
Before you pack up the car, please note our special holiday schedule so you can plan your visit:
- December 24 – 28: CLOSED (Spending time with our own Ohana!)
- December 29-31: OPEN 10-4 for Stay & Play!
- January 1: CLOSED
- January 2: Normal Hours Resume
Why a Visit to the Village is the Perfect “Reset”
After the high-stimulation of the holidays, many children benefit from a “gentle routine” and a safe space to burn off energy. Here is why a trip to Burrow & Bloom is the best post-Christmas activity:
-
Weather-Proof Fun: Birmingham winters can be unpredictable. Skip the freezing or wet playgrounds and let them run, jump, and climb in our climate-controlled, padded, and safe indoor village.
-
Screen-Free Imagination: While it’s tempting to lean on tablets during the break, screen-free play actually increases attention spans and fosters independent problem-solving. Our village is designed to ignite creativity through pretend play—no chargers required!
-
A Moment of Peace for Parents: Winter break can be exhausting for caregivers. At Burrow & Bloom, you can sit back and enjoy a moment of peace (and maybe a hot coffee or tea) while your kids play safely in a supervised environment.
-
Social Connection: Kids miss their school friends over the break. The village is a bustling hub where they can interact with peers, practice sharing, and make new friends in our community.
Other Local Favorites for the Week
If you’re looking to round out your week in the Birmingham metro area, consider these other local gems:
-
Birmingham Zoo: Catch the final days of Glow Wild for a dazzling lantern experience.
-
Alabama Theatre: Check their schedule for classic holiday films perfect for the whole family.
-
McWane Science Center: A great spot for hands-on learning if you need a full day of indoor exploration.
